Residence permit in Latvia

 

On July 1st, 2010, amendments of Latvian Immigration Law came into force providing foreign nationals for opportunity to obtain a temporary residence permit for 5 years in the Republic of Latvia and thus to travel within the Schengen Area.

One of the ways to obtain a temporary residence permit is real estate purchase in Latvia:

in Riga, R­iga Planning Region* or in other cities of republic**,
total sum of these transactions shall be
nothing less than
100 000 lats (143 000 euro)
outside Riga, Riga Planning Region and other cities of republic,
total sum of these transactions shall be
nothing less than
50 000 lats (71 500 euro)
